João Forjaz Mendes

Portalegre, 1979

Portuguese architect, graduated from the Oporto University Faculty of Architecture, João Forjaz Mendes’ work has been developed mainly in two fronts: the renovation and rehabilitation of Portuguese Architectural Heritage, including assisting in the design of the Fórum Eugénio de Almeida, deep in the center of a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the study of how urban processes shape and warp urban imaginaries.

Rooted in his professional practice is the understanding on the lack of communication between architects and the general public and the hardship endured by designers in each and every project.
